Here’s a collection of Unreleased Tunes, hope you enjoy!
Babbling Bop was my first attempt in experimenting with Ableton Swing Grooves. I applied a pretty solid swing to both the drums and the melody. I like to think of a happy indie game protagonist running around a field of sunflowers and rivers when I hear this track.
Overcast’s Misfortune was a piano sketch I improvised while coming up with ways to modulate both tempo and key to weird and unsettling places. This song reminds me of a scene in a movie where the protagonist founds out something sinister after a great tragedy.
Inspired by the track “Moonside” from the SNES game Earthbound, I wanted to create the uneasy crackling sound effects that permeate throughout the track Moonside. I’ve always been drawn to very cavernous sounds.
I wrote this tune during a Song Writing Challenge where we wrote 3 songs a week or faced the financial conseqences of taking the opposing team out to an all expenses paid trip to dinner. For Keygen 45, I made the arbitrary constraint of a simple melody accompianied by crazy arpeggios and acid bass reminisscent of 90’s tracker music.
